Η Fox Προσπαθεί να Εμποδίσει τους Watchmen

Η 20th Century Fox έκανε αγωγή κατά της Warner Bros., με σκοπό να μη προβληθεί η πολυαναμενόμενη ταινία του Zack Snyder, "Watchmen." Δικαστήριο του Los Angeles έδωσε το δικαίωμα στη Fox να προβεί σε αγωγή κατά της WB για κλοπή πνευματικών δικαιωμάτων.

Η Fox υποστηρίζει ότι απέκτησε τα κινηματογραφικά δικαιώματα της δημοφιλούς νουβέλας στα τέλη της δεκαετίας του '80. Το 1991 παραχώρισε μέρος αυτών, αλλά σύμφωνα με τους ιθύνοντες του στούντιο, κράτησε το δικαίωμα να διανείμει την πρώτη ταινία.

Fox:

"We will be asking the court to enforce Fox's copyright interests in 'The Watchmen' and enjoin the release of the Warner Brothers film and any related 'Watchmen' media that violate our copyright interests in that property."

Warner Bros.:

"The judge did not opine at all on the merits, other than to conclude that Fox satisfied the pending requirements. We respectfully disagree with Fox's position and do not believe they have any rights in and to this project."
